Environmental responsibilities seminar highlights the need for environmental insurance
September, 2010
I attended an interesting seminar today on the increased burden of environmental responsibilities imposed on business across the UK. The main theme of the seminar related to the new Environmental Damages Regulations 2009 legislation which requires any polluter to not only pay for the cost of the damage but also the remedial work in getting the environment back to the same position as it was prior to the contamination, which could take years.
Worryingly all types of business can be effected – land owners, manufacturers, developers, contractors the list goes on. On the positive side there are ways to protect yourself by buying an environmental insurance policy that will cover these costs. Learn more about environmental insurance.
